Andréane Chénier
Sudbury East–Manitoulin–Nickel Belt
Andréane Chénier
Andréane Chénier loves her community. She’s lived in Hanmer since 2007 where she and her husband raised their children, and where they keep bees and run their farm.
Andréane earned a master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Ottawa and a PhD in Biomolecular Sciences at Laurentian University. But above all, Andréane dedicates her life’s work to standing up for workers and serving her community. She currently works as a bilingual CUPE National Health and Safety Representative, and has held her position for over a decade.
Throughout the years, Andréane is proud to have been a part of many organizations in Sudbury East-Manitoulin—Nickel Belt. She was an elected Board Trustee for Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord, Board Director of the Public Services Health and Safety Association, and Labour Co-Chair of the Ministry of Labour Health Care Section 21 Committee, to name a few.
Andréane knows that a Canada that treats workers with the respect they deserve is a Canada that is fair for all. She believes that with collective action, we can improve our public healthcare system, build affordable homes, and crack down on the corporate greed that has been driving up the cost of living for everyone.
Andréane wants to put her knowledge, skills, and experience to work for the residents of the Sudbury East-Manitoulin—Nickel Belt. She’s ready to do her part to build a Canada that works for everyone.
